Vacation Planning: Check-off List
- Bring a cellular phone to book accommodations and attractions while traveling - and in case you need roadside assistance.
- Examine your belts, hoses, brakes, lights, windshield washer fluid, wiper blades, engine oil and coolant.
- Check your trunk for a jack, lug wrench and a properly inflated spare.
- Carry extra batteries or adaptors for your computer, phone, and if traveling with children, batteries for their electronic games.
- A working flashlight with extra batteries, emergency reflectors, sunglasses and a first aid kit.
- Driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurrance records.
- A spare set of vehicle keys in your friend's pocket.
- Leave a copy of your itinerary with your relative or neighbor.
- Take along special medication and prescription information, including eyeglass prescriptions and the phone numbers of family members and doctors you would want to call in an emergency.
- Have any needed repair or vehicle maintenance preformed before you go.
